Penticton! "A Place To Stay Forever".
People come to Penticton for many reasons, some come to enjoy the sunshine and beaches while others for the many festivals and events happening throughout the year. Water sports are a given with vast beaches at both, north and south ends of town and a river channel connecting the two lakes. If you’re looking for just a little relaxation, what better way to relax than lying on the beach or renting a floatation device from Coyote Cruises and taking a leisurely float down the channel to soak up some sunshine, but don't forget your sunscreen.
Looking for adventure? In the valley there is a wide range of biking and hiking trails from beginner to expert and it is just a 30 minute drive to Apex Mountain Ski Resort for a fun filled day on the slopes, also open in the summer months for downhill cycling and hiking with spectacular panoramic views. If golf is your thing, there are plenty of courses for the beginner or pro golfer to try. Take the kids to Loco Landing Adventure Park for a round of mini golf, Go-Karting or Bumper Boats. Try indoor rock climbing at Hoodoo Adventures, they also rent kayaks, stand up paddleboards and bikes for more outdoor fun. Your adventure to Penticton wouldn’t be complete without having an ice cream from Lickity Splitz or Home of Crazy Shakes at Okanagan beach.
Is there a wine tour on your agenda? Award winning wines await the connoisseur at a multitude of wineries in the area. There are quite a number of fantastic distilleries in the Okanagan that turn the local fruit into wonderful spirits and liqueurs, we recommend Maple Leaf Spirits on the Naramata Bench. Penticton is also home to seven craft breweries with Lonely Planet dubbing Penticton as 'Canada's Craft Beer Capital'.
How about fresh picked fruit? Take a short drive to a fruit stand at one of the many orchards nearby to sample the freshest fruit you’ve ever tasted.
Looking for just the right place to settle or retire? Penticton is well known for being just that place.
These are just a few of the fun and exciting things to see and do in and around Penticton.
We hope you enjoy your stay here in Penticton. Come and find a place for you to stay forever or a reason to return and discover more fun!
